THINGS TO TRY THIS SEPTEMBER

Try-This-September-WP

Sweet, sweet September. If there’s one thing we love about this month, it’s the sudden, sweeping change in the air that signifies the turn of the season.

If you’re in our Northern Hemisphere tribe, you’ll sense a slight Autumnal chill in the air and soon start reaching for soups and Winter woolies.

If you’re amongst our Southern Hemisphere peeps, you’ll be removing the layers, opening up the windows and soaking up some Vitamin D after a few months of hibernation.

Just like in Mother Nature, there are seasons in our work, too, and so today we’re encouraging you to follow along with the list below and to do a deep clean, evaluation and recalibration of sorts for your biz to get it in ship-shape for the coming months.

One

Sort out your emails

You know how amazing it feels to declutter, rearrange and tidy a messy room in your house? The same goes for your overflowing, overwhelming inbox.

Archive old emails. Read the unread ones. Flag the items that need actioning. Action those that need actioning. Unsubscribe and delete the spam.

You’ll feel so much more organised and focused.

Two

Clean your office space

Since you did such a great job with your inbox, you should extend the same courtesy to your physical work area — and give it a spring clean.

Catch up on filing. Straighten the book shelf. Dust the furniture. Throw out the rubbish and clutter.

A place for everything, everything in its place.

While you’re at it, add some fresh flowers or a pot plant and quite literally, breath life into the room.

You spend so much time at your desk, so why not turn your work space into a calm, inspiring sanctuary?

Three

Update your online home

If you have an online presence, such as a website or social media pages, make sure all your content is fresh, up to date and most importantly and reflects your brand identity.

Do you need to update your messaging and copy?

Have your contact details changed?

How about your services, products and prices?

Do you need a new headshot or bio?

Things change quickly in biz, and so it’s important your online presence reflects these shifts.

Four

Reconsider your goals

Think about your long-term plans for your career and business. Check in on your progress — are you getting closer to achieving them? What action do you need to take to get back on track?

Have the goal posts completely moved?

How could you do more — or better — to ensure you’re moving in the right direction?

Perhaps you need to update your business plan, or your vision board?

Five

Celebrate the wins

Too often, we get caught up in the motions of doing biz — being of service, reaching KPIs, increasing our income, selling more products, strategising and working — that we forget to stop and take stock of how far we have come.

What milestones do you need to celebrate?

Pop the champagne and give yourself a pat on the back.
