THINGS TO TRY THIS NOVEMBER
November, you’ve got big shoes to fill!
The last 10 months have been fleeting — but fun — and here at The Daily Guru we’re excited to end this year on another high note.
What are your plans for this month? No doubt you’re tying up loose ends, ticking boxes and in planning overdrive as we hurtle towards the end of the year. Whatever the case, be sure to make plenty of time to incorporate the following five activities into your monthly planner, which you can download below!
Drink plenty of water
We’re on the cusp of Summer here in the Southern Hemisphere and thanks to a strong El Nino, we’ve been forecast a hotter-than-usual Summer.
Yay for plenty of sweaty, sunshiny, outdoor time — but don’t forget to ramp up your H2O intake and hydrate, hydrate, hydrate those beautiful cells of yours! It’s easy to lose track, so keep a daily tally, if you have to!
Eat cooling foods
No doubt you ate your fair share of warming foods over the Winter months, so let’s continue to draw inspiration from traditional diets and eat for the season.
Yep, the warmer months are synonymous with fish ‘n chips on the beach — but as you notice the temperature start to creep up, be sure to fill your plate with plenty of raw and lightly cooked foods and take advantage of the beautiful, local fruits that start to ripen in your area this time of year.
Whether it’s on the job, at home, or in your social life, it’s easy to say “yes” to everything that’s thrown at you.
But what if you were to say “no”, more often?
This isn’t about declining amazing life experiences and opportunities — but it’s worth being mindful this month of quieting the people-pleaser in you and saying “thanks but no thanks” a little more.
You’ll be amazed by how much less overwhelmed, stretched and stressd you feel once you start to prioritise your own needs and responsibilities over those of others.
Next month, being the festive season, it’s going to be a lot harder to say “no” — so make the most of this powerful practice without the guilt, before December hits!

We’ve mentioned the benefits of journaling or free writing plenty of times in the past — and we encourage you to try this meditative practice every day this month!
Grab a notebook, leave it beside your bed or in your handbag and put pen to paper each day, whenever the inspiration hits.
This stream-of-consciousness record of your thoughts, experiences and observations is a beautiful way to connect with your inner wisdom on a daily basis and certainly gets easier with time.
There are plenty of journaling resources available with prompts and other inspiration, but starting with something as simple as the following, always work a treat:
“Today I am grateful for…”
“I need more…”
