TIME TO SPRING CLEAN YOUR SKIN CARE REGIME
A change of weather can wreak havoc on your skin so the arrival of a new season is the perfect time to reassess your beauty regime. Spring is a time to start investing in products that will help deal with shifts in climate and increased exposure to sun levels.
Here are my five top tips on how to give your skincare regime a much-needed spring clean.
Always Use an SPF
We sometimes forget how strong the sun can be in spring. UVA and UVB are one of the leading causes of premature aging and pigmentation. I always recommend a natural day cream with SPF such as Kimberly Sayer Antioxidant Moisturiser with SPF30 so you won’t forget this crucial step.
Exfoliate & Prep
Skin can tend to look a bit dull and dry after winter. Spring is an excellent time to start prepping your skin for summer and getting your glow back with a gentle exfoliation. Opt for microfoliant such as Tata Harper Regenerating Cleanser or 100% Pure Brightening Scrub and Mask. I recommend a light exfoliation 2 times a week to remove dead skin cells which will allow your moisturiser to work more effectively
For your body you can’t go past dry body brushing. It gets the blood circulating and helps detoxify your body. Celebs like Miranda Kerr swear by it!
Focus on Cleansing
Spring is the perfect time to invest in your cleansing regime to reveal clearer, glowing skin. I recommend choosing a lighter cleanser that is specifically designed to brighten the skin such as100% Pure Skin Brightening Cleanser .
Spend 1-2 minutes working with your cleanser in upwards circular motions to clean deep into the pores, focusing on any congested areas with smaller circular motions.
Invest in a serum
There tends to some confusion as to why a serum is such an important part of good skin care. Think of your moisturiser as your skin’s food, and your serum as its vitamins. It gives a power packed punch of hydration and nutrients whilst simultaneously treating skin conditions such as pigmentation, dryness and fine lines. I’m currently loving Tata Harper Concentrated Brightening Serum but also find Acure 100% Organic Argan Oil really lovely especially for combination skin.
Drink More Water
If your skin is feeling tight and looking dry and flaky after the harsh effects of winter weather and central heating, make sure you increase your hydration levels. I always go for an Alkaline water as it helps to balance your body’s pH and is a great source of antioxidants. It can literally take years off your face if drunk regularly and will make your skin bright and sparkly.
