She’s a nutritionist, director and co-founder of The Health Clinic and we share an intimate interview with the honest and committed go-getter who just this month, launched her online holistic health business in partnership with dietician Robbie Clark.

From the reality of daily stresses, to endometriosis and a deep fear of infertility, to unswerving faith in the BIG dream, Pip is a lady to watch.


The best part of my job is…  

I’ve been lucky enough to combine my own passion for health, healthy food and healthy living with helping people. I love seeing my clients get results and holding their hand on whatever health journey they are on, as well as constantly learning myself as health is forever changing!

I chose to enter this field of work because…

As a young dancer, I developed an undeniable and not uncommon fixation on food and exercise, although decided to follow a career in business marketing after school. A few years after uni, I re-established my love for exercise by completing my PT certification and it was then that I realised my love of health extended much further than just exercise, and I completed my studies in Nutrition. Going down the path of developing an online health clinic was a no-brainer for me. I wanted to incorporate my love of consulting with accessibility and flexibility for both myself and my clients. Plus, I love all things health related!

The greatest challenge in my career has been…

Being a small business owner always presents itself with ongoing challenges! I started my own business fresh from studying nutrition with very little experience in running a business and ensuring regular clientele. I have to wear many hats to make sure I cover every aspect of the business, from marketing and advertising, to accounting, self-education and treatment of clients. Starting an online health clinic was completely out of my league as I had never developed a website before, and if I’d known now what I knew back when I started development 12 months ago, I probably wouldn’t have gone through with it! But persistence seems to be my middle name, and I make sure I look after myself as best as I can to cope with the many daily pressures. Thank god treating stress is a specialty of mine!


The funniest misconceptions about my industry/company/brand are….

I guess there is a lot of misconception and expectation around how healthy we are supposed to be as practitioners! People think that I always make healthy choices! While I am certainly very aware of the best way to eat and exercise and have lifestyle habits for my own body and health, I also slip up – whether those chips beckon me to eat them, or I don’t feel like exercising, or I drink too many glasses of champagne! I always manage to pull myself together, forgive myself and recover with my next meal or gym session. We are ALL only human, and our life experiences make us more relatable.

The most influential person in my career has been…

My business partner Robbie Clark. He is a brilliant holistic Dietitian who has been my mentor, my shoulder to lean on as we developed our website, as well as helping me get through the hard times and the crazy clients (we all have them!) I also deeply respect Joanna McMillan, who really paved the way for nutritionists in the media, and Dr Bob Buist who is an absolute legend in the industry.

If I could give one piece of advice to my 18-year-old self, it would be….

Only one!? 🙂 I would tell her to stop being a stress-head, that things work out for a reason, and that you were on the right path from the start – keep going! Oh and drink less and sleep more.

My greatest achievement has been…          

Standing on my own two feet and having the guts to see through to the end (or the beginning – we launch in May 2016!). The strength I have had to find this past year, the stress we have endured, and the will to keep going are by far my greatest achievements. And although we haven’t made it yet, I can trust in myself that I will endure whatever the Universe throws at me!

The greatest personal challenge I have over come is…      

Being diagnosed with endometriosis last year was very upsetting for me. And while I try not to let the stress and thought of infertility get to me, it has enabled me to relate to my clients on a more personal level, and to further my research, study and treatment protocols so I can assist others while also keeping my own symptoms at bay. Staying positive is key!

I don’t understand why…       

So many Dr’s are still so anti-nutritionist.

I try to relax by…        

Watching a terrible action movie with my husband and a delicious glass of red wine

My biggest fear is…   

Infertility. And heights.

I can’t live without…

I specialise in weight loss, stress, female hormones and healthy ageing.
